Whoever said that the holiday season is the “most wonderful time of the year,” is clearly not in University or College — what comes before the holidays for students is definitely not “wonderful.” Exam season is, without a doubt, the most stressful time of the year.
Tensions are high, coffees are plentiful, procrastination is real and the breakdowns are frequent. It’s hard to take on exam season in a way that will protect your mental health and your GPA.
Just remember, exam time does end and is celebrated by spending a lot of time with friends, family and a whole lot of food.
Without a doubt, these are the stages students can count on going through every single year around exam time:
The Relaxed Stage
Your exam is days away — you deserve some you time.
Several Days Later
It hits you. Your exam is day away. You should really study.

S.O.S. send help. You’ve officially forgotten everything you learned this year
Two hours of studying, surely you deserve a break!
The Self Empowerment Stage
You remember that you’ll be free soon enough and just need to get this s*** done.
The Sleepy Stage
Your eyes start getting heavy. It’s 11 pm – sleep is for the weak!
In Desperate Need of Coffee Stage
You can do this, you just need a little caffeine
You Got This
You stand in front of your mirror and recite “You. Can. Do. This” praying your roommates don’t hear you.
Today’s the day, one exam is standing between you and winter break.
You join the herd of students outside your class. Someone talks about a lecture you skimmed over — panic sets in.
